ECatering is the flagship retail brand of RGD, one of the UK's leading commercial catering equipment groups. From its 32,000 sq ft warehouse in County Durham, it ships ovens, fryers, refrigeration and food preparation kit to professional kitchens nationwide. Customers range from independent café owners and care homes to Costco, Subway and Nando's. Its own-brand Contender range covers the workhorse appliances commercial kitchens depend on most.

For thousands of UK hospitality businesses, a broken oven or a failed dishwasher mid-service is not a maintenance inconvenience. It is a trading crisis.

The existing warranty on Contender products covered parts. Labour was the customer's responsibility. The opportunity was clear: turn Contender's product quality into a complete, backed promise, visible at the point of purchase across the whole store.

Storewide Protection, Embedded at Every Sale

In February 2026, ECatering launched a full protection programme with Loxa. Every product in the Contender range, ECatering's own-brand line, now comes with two years of complimentary protection included: parts and labour covered, faults and accidental damage, no excess to pay, from day one. Loxa handles all claims end-to-end. Customers wanting additional peace of mind can extend to five years, with the option presented directly on the product page.

The programme extends beyond Contender. Every insurable item across the ECatering catalogue, including third-party catering equipment, now carries Loxa's protection as an opt-in at checkout. For a customer buying any piece of commercial kitchen equipment on ECatering, cover is available from the moment they decide to buy.

For the RGD sales team presenting to trade customers in person, the conversation is straightforward. Full cover is already built in. The only question is whether the customer wants to extend it.

Two Channels, Live in Under Two Weeks

The integration covered both of ECatering's sales channels simultaneously. On the Shopify storefront, Loxa's widget presents Contender's complimentary protection on the product page, alongside the five-year extension option, directly next to the Add to Cart button. For all other insurable items across the catalogue, the widget presents protection as an add-on at the point of purchase.

ECatering's B2B sales team manages key accounts and in-person orders through Acumatica, the business's ERP. Loxa built a separate API connection feeding policies directly into that workflow, with no manual workarounds for the sales team. Both channels were live within two weeks of the integration brief. Every sale, online or offline, carried the same protection offering from day one.
